CWU Anti-Privatisation Campaign Steps Up Pressure

The Communication Workers Union is stepping up its pressure on Labour MPs to reject plans to part-privatise the Royal Mail by initially holding a demonstration in the constituency of Minister for Postal Affairs, Pat McFadden.

Postal workers from across the UK, their families and the public are expected to turn out for this march and rally to express concern at plans to privatise Royal Mail.

Speakers include: Billy Hayes (CWU general secretary), Dave Ward (CWU deputy general secretary), Brian Simpson MEP and European Party Spokesman on Postal Issues, Geraldine Smith MP, sponsor of EDM 428, Jane Loftus (Vice President) and John Grogan MP.

The event is sheduled for Saturday 14th March starting at 11.30am, at the corner of Greencroft and Arthur St in Bilston, Wolverhampton, culminating in a rally at 1pm at the Imperial Banqueting House, Wellington Road, Bilston
